The multi people float race down the River Boyne at 1PM on St. Patrick's Day always draws a flood of entries so get preparing your vessels today!
The rules are quite simple and water tight.
Entering teams must consist of people over 16yrs.
The water vehicle cannot be mechanically propelled and the majority of the
raft must touch the water at all times.
Each person MUST HAVE a buoyancy-aid and helmet (canoeing or bike will do).
It would be ideal if each person had a wetsuit (just in case!) but if not
wear a tracksuit. Do not wear denim as it is heavy when wet and sticks to you.
You should wear old runners as the river banks may be wet and slippy.
The M.P.F. race will begin and end on a green field site ( Kilcarn Bridge ) so entrants must
also master the art of launching and taking their vehicle from the river at
fast speed.
The race will be monitored at all times by the Meath River Rescue Divers
and their decision is final.
Participants must sign a disclaimer form prior to the launch of their raft.
The race will take place at 1pm on St. Patrick's Day starting at Kilcarn Bridge.
Navan Shamrock Festival and Meath River Rescue do not accept
responsibilty for any loss, damage or injury that may happen
as a result of taking part in this rafting event. Enter at
your own risk.
