Wednesday 11th March
  • 12-1PM & 1-2PM Amen Presentations, St Anne's Resource Centre, Presentations about Amen support service for Men
  • 8PM Launch of Navan Shamrock Festival programme at Navan Town Council Chambers. Very special guest, Ambassador Pat Binns, Canadian Ambassador to Ireland. A special presentation will be made to the Ambassador from the people of Ireland for his country's contribution to the plight of the Irish during the 1847 famine.
  • 9PM We as a community honour our Shamrock in the home of the Shamrock with a night of Ceol, Craic agus Scéalta by the fire side in The Lantern Lounge with very special guest, Ambassador Pat Binns in attendance
  • 9PM Music by Tom Duff and friends. The Lantern, Watergate St.
  • 9PM Matt Leavy - Enjoy the Best of Irish and country music in the comfort of Knights Public House, Watergate St.
Thursday 12th March
  • 10.30-11.45AM Céilí and old time dance plus sing/song. Senior Citizens Club Church grounds.
  • 12-1PM & 1-2PM Amen Presentations, St Anne's Resource Centre, Presentations about Amen support service for Men
  • 8PM Launch of 'Tales of a Travel Addict' Manchan Mangan (writer from RTE's No Béarla and the Irish Times), Navan Library
  • 8.30PM Lecture and question and answer session on the Effects of 125 years of the GAA on the Royal County of Meath with Michael O'Brien and other GAA stars. Venue Navan O'Mahonys
Friday 13th March
  • 10AM Shamrock Village, Fairgreen. Come & experience our Shamrock Village with it's own Forge, Thatched Houses and Family Farm Pets. Dance the set or just listen to Céilí Music as our Fairgreen returns to a bygone age for one day only. Not to be missed!
  • 10AM Open Air Living History Display by Navan Travellers Workshop on Fairgreen
    • See how a tin is made leak proof without a weld
    • See how a barrel wagon or flat cart is made
  • 11AM Children's Puppet Show CYWS Hall, Fairgreen. Open to all children up to Primary School age

  • 1PM Live dinner time concert by Caitríona Mongey at the Solstice Art Centre

  • 7PM Praise Night for St Patrick's Festival,Jesus House, Balmoral Estate, Kells Rd. Gospel Choir, Drama, Film Show, Light Refreshments. Free Entry
  • 7PM Registration for Paddy Texas Hold-Em card game The Stonehouse Public House and Restaurant, Kennedy Road. Entry €20. Half price admission for those in Irish costumes.
  • 8PM Texas Hold 'Em Begins. Rebuy Top-up €20 unlimited.
  • 9.30PM Trad at its best, Brady's Ludlow Street. Those who know say the best traditional session in the County, you judge! €100 prize for the best fancy dress of the night.

  • 10AM Book Launch 'Building Blocks', Navan Library, Meath Junior Writers Circle. Open to all!
  • 2PM Open Day at Navan Fire Station where children of all ages can climb a ladder, climb into a fire engine or hose down the yard with water
  • 2PM Traditional Farmers Market, Civic Plaza Kennedy Road. Local Produce.

  • 8PM Multi-denominational religious service, St Mary's Church of Ireland, Church Hill. Hosted by Cannon John Clarke and featuring Gospel Music
  • 8PM Big Band Revival (musical director Michael McGoona). The Solstice Arts Centre. Tickets from Solstice.
  • Take your choice of craic, ceol agus rince in any of Navan pubs or clubs venues
  • 8PM Launch of 'Voices of Navan' CD and live music with 'The Essential' @ The Palace. The CD has been recorded by the people of Navan who gave their talents for free to Navan Community

Tuesday 17th March, St. Patrick's Day
  • 10AM Historic Walking Tour of Navan by Vincent Mulvaney, Starting point the Fair Green
  • 11AM Inaugural Cornmarket Arts & Crafts Festival - Comedy and Music Tent, Arts & Craft Market, Face painters, Arts and Craft Workshops and much more! Small cover charge.
  • 11AM Aifreann as Gaeilge at St. Mary's RC Church preceded by a march by the Navan Foresters Band
  • 12PM High Nelly leisure cycle around the streets of Navan. This is open to all with a bicycle. Tradition 1940's - 1950's dress would be nice to accompany the old-style bicycle but not essential. Starts at the Balreask Arms/Teach na Teamhair. In aid of Navan Mental Health
  • 1PM River Parade from Kilcarn Bridge to the Ramparts. Search for the Salmon of Knowledge. Teams of four. Entries to info@navanshamrockfestival.com
  • 2PM Live Traditional and Contemporary music from a stage outside Singer Shop, Civic Plaza, Kennedy Road
  • 2PM Inflatable Go Karts, Bouncy Castles, Kids entertainment tent and much more, for Primary School Ages up. Including Paintball by The Zone

  • 5.30PM Post-Parade Children's Disco @ The Newgrange Hotel. Only for those who took part in the St Patrick's Day Parade

  • 7-11PM Live Music @ O'Flaherty's. 7-9PM Keri and 9-11PM Eamon Toal
  • 8.30PM Hooley in Teach na Teamhrach (formerly Balreask Arms) in aid of ARC Cancer Support Centre. Admission 10 euro. Organised by Navan Road Club.

Promotional Events Planned
  • The streets of our town will be covered in green and gold bunting
  • Fairground attractions will be available to all in our Fair Green
  • There will be a prize awarded by Festival Committee to the best dressed green shop window display
  • Signs reflecting that a festival is taking place in the town will be erected on all approach roads
The Festival Committee hope the whole town of Navan play their part in celebrating our National Holiday by taking part in some of the events or by coming out to show their support.
